The "Tupolev Tu2" was the second most important medium bomber built in the Soviet Union during World War II. Modern in concept and well armed, it remained in service until the late 1950's in the Polish and Chinese Air Force. It took part in the Korean conflict. The reporting name "Bat" was applied to the aircraft by NATO.
